Introducing Classique Floors + Tile Project Consultant, Patrick Scott
CF+T: Patrick, what is your background. Are you from Portland?
PS: I was born and raised in Longview, Washington.
I worked for Sears Roebuck and Company for 23 years going from Hardware to Home Fashions and Floorcoverings.
I moved to Columbia River Carpet One for 15 years before coming to Classique Floors + Tile.
CF+T: How did you come to Classique?
PS: I was invited to work at Classique Floors by Judith Huck because of my reputation for strong customer service at my previous company.
CF+T: What is your role with the company?
PS: I am a project manager and sales specialist.
CF+T: What are the biggest trends in flooring and tile that you see affecting customers?
CF+T: How do you recommend that clients prepare for working with you?
PS: There’s no real way to prepare for me. A sense of humor would be a good start.
CF+T: Which are your favorite Classique products and why?
PS: I like the LVPs and Carpet. Call me old fashioned but I love walking on warm soft carpeting. Today’s fibers are so durable and cleanable that the issue of staining is not a concern for me.
CF+T: Where do you find ideas to inspire your clients?
PS: I find ideas in shelter magazines, in homes and businesses, and sometimes in my head.
A realtor once viewed my home when my ex-wife and I were thinking of selling it to get a larger home. She turned to us and said “This house belongs in an issue of Better Homes and Gardens magazine. It’s beautiful!” She’d directed her comment mainly to Sharon. Sharon simply pointed to me and said “It’s all him!”
CF+T: Which is your favorite picture of feet on the floor? Why?
PS: I love Carly’s feet in front of the elongated crescent wall tile. Not many realize she is lying down so it looks like she is standing. I just thought that idea was so fun.
CF+T: What do you like to do outside of Classique?
PS: I love classic old movies. The classic actors, Clark Gable, Kathryn Hepburn, Henry Fonda, Charles Laughton, Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart. These are actors, the type that will never be seen again. An era gone bye.
I also enjoy cooking very much. To be able to surprise my partner with a wonderful dinner after he’s had a hard day at work gives me a feeling of accomplishment.
CF+T: What is your favorite vacation spot? Why?
PS: I love the Oregon Coast. Any weather but especially when it is stormy. The ocean sounds as the waves roll in and the salty air are so relaxing to me.
CF+T: Favorite restaurant or type of food?
PS: My favorite restaurant is The Masthead in Longview, Washington. The food is traditional tavern fare with famous halibut fish and chips served with malt vinegar.
CF+T: Thank you, Patrick!
